Woodbury Lodge is one of the lodges that fall under Amakhala Game Reserve which is 75km east of Port Elizabeth in the direction of Grahamstown near the Addo National Park. Woodbury Lodge is a four star graded thatched lodge which overlooks the abundant wildlife of the Bushman’s River basin. This lodge is owned and managed by the Gush family.
Each lodge within Amakhala contributes to a collective fund for education and uplifts their staff through training. The collective focuses strongly on HIV/Aids by investing time and financial resources to support an orphanage and by facilitating staff education as well as voluntary counselling and testing. The lodges also support community-based suppliers including a sewing business and Candle making business in set up process.
‘Wonderful to be part of a group of tourism products that promotes the ideals of Fair Trade in tourism’
