Xolile Caga previously worked as the Group Transformation Manager for the Edcon group and has an honours degree in Sociology from University of Fort Hare, Bachelor of Arts from University of Transkei and has lectured Sociology at the University of Transkei. Xolile also has a certificate on Small Enterprise Development from Erasmus University, Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

Before joining Edcon, Xolile was the Director of the Economic Growth and Equity Unit (EGE) at the National Business Initiative. At NBI, Xolile worked on economic development programmes with particular focus on enterprise development programmes, public private partnership in collaboration with the National Treasury. Before leaving NBI, Xolile was Programme Director for the Joint Initiative for Priority Skills Acquisition (JIPSA)

Xolile also worked for the then Ntsika Enterprise Promotion Agency which is now Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA) where she was involved with implementation of national small enterprise development research programmes and policy research formulation.

Xolile also served as panel member for Fair Trade in Tourism South Africa which promotes adoption of responsible practises in tourism in South Africa.
