Imvubu is located in the beautiful Rondevlei Nature Reserve, just 20 minutes outside of Cape Town's city centre. The Reserve, established in 1952, is a paradise for nature lovers, boasting the Western Cape's only population of hippos, over 232 species of birds, and a variety of indigenous plants that can be found nowhere else in the world.

Imvubu not only offers an excellent escape from the rush of city life, This newly established company also demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainable and responsible tourism. Since its inception in April 2002, Imvubu has operated with a strong community-based approach. Owners, management and staff as well as most suppliers of goods and services all hail from the immediate communities, which ensures that economic benefits flow directly to the community while also delivering a more personalised service to its guests. Imvubu also supports the Zeekoevlei Environmental Education Project Trust by contributing a portion of revenue towards environmental education programmes for local scholars and residents.

To experience all that Rondevlei has to offer, Imvubu provides a variety of guided tours including their popular walk into Rondevlei's "medicine cabinet," where guests can learn the medicinal and cultural value of indigenous vegetation. But Imvubu is not simply about tours. They also offer a full conference facility, giving their clients a choice between an indoor, air-conditioned venue, or a rustic outdoor option. Guests have the opportunity to combine business and nature with the choice of three conference rooms: the modern Porcupine Lecture Room, the new outdoor Boma Conference Facility, and the smaller Resource Centre. The Boma Facility provides an ideal outdoor setting for parties, weddings, and special events.

Imvubu's self-catering island bush camp offers visitors the opportunity to partake in exclusive carp or barbel fishing. Or guests can enjoy a sundowner or a sunset boat cruise, while watching the hippos and their antics in their natural aquatic habitat.

Whether you are looking for a quiet weekend getaway, a unique conference facility, or a place to relax and observe the wildlife in Rondevlei, Imvubu offers a variety of services and choices, leaving each guest wanting more.
